We all want to lead extraordinary lives. We want to grow extraordinary companies. We want to work with extraordinary people. How do you become and help others become extraordinary? Can you, or is it something you are born with?
Its Starts in Your Brain
Your brain plays a pivotal role in how you operate, react, and work with others. The way your neurotransmitters relay information, when your dopamine receptors kick into gear, and how you store information all starts in your brain.
Now whether you are a professional athlete or a business leader, your brain is the driving force behind your extraordinariness. It’s what pushes you to put in the hours of training, to react in the right way, and to pursue plans for the future.
It all starts inside your head.
You Can Train Your Brain
While you may be thinking that how our brains operate is purely genetic, you are wrong. Neuroplasticity refers to the brains ability to evolve and grow, and this is brought upon by our actions more than our genetics. By having good brain habits, you can change your life and lifestyle from mediocre, to extraordinary.
So how do you get there? You have to get that initial motivation and boost to build the discipline. The best way to do this is to start with your why. Why do you want to be better?
Don’t default to cookie cutter goals or polished phrases, dig deep and find what is meaningful. Something that hurts you more not to fix, than to fix.
Pair this up with some small easy steps. For example, if you wanted to run a marathon, start by running for 10 minutes a day. These small, easy steps will help you to build discipline and consistency.
You Can Inspire Others
Something harder than helping yourself is helping others. You can’t do the work for them; you instead need to help them find the motivation to help themselves.
You can do this by:
- Sharing stories
- Setting Challenges
- Leading By Example
Coach people for self-awareness and envisioning the life they want to build, soon the rest will follow.
